The Cooperative

           The Zamboanga del Norte Electric Cooperative, Inc. (ZANECO) is a non-stock and non-profit

electric cooperative organized and registered on August 23, 1972, with the National Electrification

Administration (NEA). NEA was created through Presidential Decree 269.

           From its original franchise that covered Dapitan City and the Municipalities of Rizal, Sibutad, La Libertad

Piñan, Mutia and Polanco, ZANECO has grown into a mega-large electric cooperative covering 584

barangays in 21 municipalities and two cities throughout the province of Zamboanga del Norte.

And from the pioneering five-person manpower in 1973, ZANECO has now 262-strong workforce

attending to the power needs of member-consumers within the cooperative’s four area offices located

in Dipolog City and the Municipalities of Piñan, Sindangan and Liloy.

After all, ZANECO’s vision is clear:
